“Raise Your Vibration” is our mood-boosting team mantra here at La DoubleJ, but what does it mean and how the heck do you do it? We explored energy, good vibes and more with the divine healer Elisabeth Manning and the LDJ community in our Raise Your Vibration Zoom workshop. To all the great gorgeous gurus that joined, grazie mille – it was a real treat to share your good vibes.

Elisabeth was J.J.’s first energy healer (J.J. says she was the “worst, kicking, screaming client ever”), who specializes in coaching us conscious beings to reach our full, purest and most divine potential, whether means a baby, a business, or a blessed life. Read more about her, here.

Keep scrolling for the workshop highlights and to watch the full recording, including a five-minute meditation to help you to switch off your mind. We hope it activates and empowers your inner guru, your inner teacher, your inner power.

J.J.: We go around our lives running, climbing, scrambling and basically only in touch with ourselves as a physical body and a mental being crunching numbers in our head all day long. We don’t recognise that we exist in different dimensions of being: an emotional, level, an energetic level and spiritual level. You helped me tap into that Elisabeth. So, what are we talking about when we say, “Raise Your Vibration”?

Elisabeth: The vibration that we are talking about is: what lights us up in our heads? What gives us energy? What makes us feel like a full body? These are the things to start paying attention to because this is your intuition, which is the heart. When we are in our heads we are not really connected with our intuition. Get present to that. Get out of your head. The mental stuff is what we are here to bust through. You have a very strong mind.

J.J.: All of us as humans have that potential within ourselves. The important thing in your energy practice is to identify your higher self, come into contact with it and use it as the guru to yourself to pull yourself out of the gunky gooey stuff at the bottom of your experience.

Elisabeth: The best way to higher vibration is not thinking you have to get somewhere. Just accepting where we are right now, as we are, is the doorway. The real key here is the simplicity of it. We don’t have to get ‘there’ – that validates we are not good enough where we are. It’s really important to take that and enter where you are and be with that, with compassion and self forgiveness and developing that commitment to self love. Be where you are, start where you are, love yourself where you are.

“The best way to higher vibration is not thinking you have to get somewhere. Just accepting where we are right now, as we are, is the doorway.”

J.J.: Of course, there’s a lot of things you can do to raise your vibration: detoxing, fasting and juice cleansing, meditation, yoga – the physical things. I could list 55 things that I have done. But the number one thing is forgiveness.

Elisabeth: Self forgiveness most of all. No matter how much stuff we surround ourselves with, how much yoga we do, if we are poisoned by our own thoughts and attitudes, no amount of high vibrational activities are going to work. And that’s why I say a desire, a choice, a willingness to receive will help you step out of the mud and onto the ladder. And as you step onto the ladder, you take one little step at a time. To make progress, feel the dark parts of yourself that are blocking your light. We can make up a story about where those dark parts came from, who did it to you, but that is a shackle – let go of the story. Let go of all that holds you back and you are making a choice that the light you are carrying is more important than the dark. When you start identifying more with the light than the darkness you are feeling, you become more willing to let go because something else feels better.

J.J.: What are some of the practical things you can do to raise your vibration every day? I’ve got to tell you, epsom salts in the bathtub is a winner, winner, chicken, dinner. Get yourself an intuitive bodyworker that can help you locate where in your body you are holding onto trauma and drama – that could be anything from a massage to yin yoga and pranayama breathing. Stargazing, and watching the sunset and sunrise – do it regularly and you’ll find something happening.

Elisabeth: Distilled white vinegar in the bath also helps get out the toxins. My favorite oil is white angelica (mine is from Young Living) – it makes me go zip! For trauma, somatic relief is really helpful, breathwork, too. Tree gazing, also. The best gift we can give ourselves is letting nature melt our walls. If you feel peace, or a sense of relief; if you yawn, exhale or cough – these are all signs that you have tapped into the vibration. Your body is a beacon of broadcasting vibration. Eliminate what takes you into a feeling state that feels bad to you. That could be news, media, social media, cell phones. Give yourself permission to feel good.

“Let go of all that holds you back and you are making a choice that the light you are carrying is more important than the dark.”

J.J.: Activating your creativity puts you in contact with creator source consciousness. It doesn’t have to be creating an artwork, it could be something simple like making dinner or organizing your closets. It has the power to be transforming, shifting.

Elisabeth: Anything that helps you get out of your thoughts. Our natural state is wellbeing. When our brain is hooked on to negative thoughts, emotions or stress, it takes away from our natural state of wellbeing. Creativity helps you get out of the brain and into our heart and soul.
