Over the holidays DoubleJ traded in our sunny Milanese showroom next to the canal for hot-desking in hammocks in the Mexican jungle. We were there to set up shop for the inimitably amazing Hotel Esencia — the seven-billion-star resort that sits on a perfect slice of private beach paradise 30 minutes north of Tulum. The Hotel Esencia hosted a flower-filled outdoor pop-up shop where our new editions were hung from the palm trees, softly swinging in the ocean breeze, with guests such as Fabien Baron, Jason Wu, Jane Louder and Diane Kruger all mingling under the candlelight.

Luckily for us, the fun didn’t end when the last cocktail was poured. As soon as we touched down in the tropical paradise we were keen to explore all the Mayan Riviera had to offer. Once the last One Love dress was swept off the shelf by Esencia’s pattern-hungry clientele, we were on our way to discover all the jungle had to offer. Our first stop was Coba, a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, featuring miles of Mayan ruins and the remnants of ancient civilisations. From our perfect perch at the Coqui Coqui Hotel, we trekked up crumbling vertical pyramids and did day trips to Valladolid, a quaint little town with the kind of maximalist design and architecture we felt right at home in. If you fancy a little glimpse into all of our magical Mexican moments, we had our #1 girlboss, J.J. Martin, put together a little photo diary for all of us back home in Milan to relive the journey!
