Suede has made a major comeback from its 70’s heyday and is now riding into town with a fierce attitude and decidedly feminine lines. A far cry from the heavy, bulky cuts that made their way around Grateful Dead sets at Woodstock, these new looks are marked by a second-skin feel that’s paper-thin and super sleek. The new suede is ultra girly and lacks the rhinestones and studs from those get-ups on Dynasty—making it more swing than bling and wearable for all seasons. Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant all sent a suede parade down their Spring runways. We too have gone nuts for it. Mix our luscious earth-toned skirts and jackets with a vintage blouse and statement piece jewels for summer and you’ll still be rocking the look when the temperatures begin to dip next fall.
