There’s nothing we like better than jumping into a glittering vintage archive so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to plunder the ridiculously rich print collection of one of Lake Como’s greatest silk manufacturers, Mantero, with the aim to find punchy patterns for our very first dress collection. We searched for the brightest, most graphic, fabulous patterns we could find from a stash of thousands that hadn’t been in circulation for years. In the end we selected 7 vintage fabric designs so we could bring you a simple silhouette that’s as comfortable and easy as wearing a long T-shirt with pockets and that doesn’t hug any of those problem areas around the stomach, hips and backside. Essentially, the wear-anywhere and always silhouette for every girl on the planet. It’s as awesome with flats as it it is layered with coats and a boot when temperatures drop.
This partnernship marks the debut of La DoubleJ Editions, which will see ongoing collaborations between La DoubleJ and historic or niche Italian brands. The idea, as with everything we do at ladoublej.com, is to shine the light on the best of Milan and the best of Italy…one amazing piece of clothing at a time.
