Enrica Ponzellini

The new editor-in-chief of Vogue Bambini and Vogue Sposa, Enrica Ponzellini is a rising fashion star in Milan and one of the most stylish women around town. The Bologna-born mother of one started her career in fashion as an intern at Vogue Italia, and diligently worked her way up through the ranks to become fashion editor of Vogue Gioielli before taking on her new position as a double-header editor. We love this girl’s brains as much as her beauty!

The first clothes I ever loved were Armani. When I was a pre-teen, it was my out-of-school uniform– culottes and a pleated skirt. When I was seventeen, I realized I was a girl and that I could be attractive, so then I got really into clothes. I bought a pair of shoes from Armani with a transparent PVC heel. I loved them. I still have them.

My basics have to be Armani– I wear loads of the jeans, white dress shirts, and white t-shirts. My husband is the same– all his basics are Armani. And every time we talk about fashion, all he wants to know is, “What does King Giorgio think?”

I’m a grey and camel girl. I like really manly trousers paired with really girly shirts. I wear a lot of vintage pants from my mother’s wardrobe– Basile, or Hermès, and Armani’s vintage pants are great–and generally in grey or in camel.

I feel so cool in my Armani outfit. This is how you need to wear jeans. I feel so Italian with my light blue jeans and a double-breasted blazer, just like my father used to wear when he was young.

Between my work and home life, I make a complete division. My son and my husband get me all weekend, and for two and a half hours a day– in that time, my phone is off. They deserve my attention.

The one thing I hate is disorganized people. They drive me crazy. If you’re well-organized, you can accomplish anything you want.

My goals are to be a very good mother, and to do an excellent job with this great position I just landed as editor of these two magazines. There’s a lot of work to be done to make them the reference points in their fields the way that Vogue Italia is.
